Project Manager
Mélanie Mós is a project manager at LEaF Translations. She oversees each phase of the translation project and acts as a liaison between the client and the linguist. Besides managing our projects, Mélanie also translates and proofreads texts from English and French into Portuguese.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
Melanie did a Bachelor’s Degree in English and French at the University of Coimbra. Still, she felt she needed an extra boost to start her career, so she did a Master’s Degree in Translation at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. During her Bachelor’s Degree, she had the opportunity to take a semester abroad in Manchester, which she loved.
Melanie worked as an in-house translator and project manager for a year before deciding to go freelance in 2020. She has been translating different types of texts, but she is mostly interested in ethical marketing translations, tourism translations (she loves to travel) and SEO translations.
Besides being a translator and project manager, Melanie also loves playing with words during her singing gigs.

Language Love:
“The way a word can mean different things, especially if we use a different tone. In Portugal, we often play with words a lot in popular music.”
Language Loathe:
“When we have a Portuguese word to name a thing, but someone prefers to use the English version of it just because it sounds more fancy.”
