As we embark on our ninth year in business, it is time to look back and ahead to what 2026 might have in store for LEaF…
Our commitment to give back
LEaF Translations was founded on ethical values and giving back to society remains something very close to our heart. Here’s a summary of how we have lived our second value of “Being a force for good” in recent months (see our Mission Statement to find out more about our five key values):
- As per our Christmas tradition, we donated to our local food bank in York, the Collective Sharehouse.
- Choose Love was our national charity of choice for our second end-of-year donation. It is a fantastic organisation, supporting refugees and helping to educate the general population on the plight of refugees, both in the UK, in Calais and further afield. Their online shop allows you to buy gifts that really make a difference, from children’s coats to warm winter clothing, to toiletries and period products. They also sell a great range of t-shirts and hoodies in their merchandise store.
- We are firm believers in reducing our negative impact on the planet through less consumption, planet-friendly choices and supporting other value-led businesses, but we also want to make a positive contribution to the fight against climate change. We have been funding trees and climate projects via our virtual forest on Ecologi since 2020. Our total number of trees planted now stands at an amazing 3,434 trees and, through our donations to global climate projects – from protecting forests in Colombia, to wind and solar projects in Asia, the Americas and Africa – we have helped to avoid 105.16 tonnes of CO2e. This is equivalent to 81 long haul flights or the saving of 315 square metres of sea ice.
Staffing changes at LEaF HQ
While our core values and determination to be the best SEO translation agency in the UK remained the same in 2025, it was a year of change for LEaF Translations behind the scenes. We said goodbye to long-standing project manager Kitty, who had been with us since Lucy offered her work experience during her undergraduate degree back in 2021, later progressing to a freelance and then full-time role.
Lucy took the opportunity to further bolster LEaF’s in-house SEO expertise with the hire of expert Portuguese SEO translator and project manager Mélanie Mós. Mélanie has fitted in seamlessly and has been busy building relationships with our clients and team of translators.
Growth & future plans
Another new(ish) face within the LEaF team is that of Angela Bray, our business development lead. Angela has been working with Lucy to build on LEaF Translations’ excellent reputation within the SEO industry and help spread the word about how LEaF works with digital marketing agencies to make their lives easier. It is testament to the work delivered over recent years that LEaF’s growth has been almost solely driven by word-of-mouth recommendations. Lucy and Angela are now looking to build on this solid foundation and will be out and about over the coming months at events including the Women in Tech SEO Festival in London in February.
So what is the objective for 2026? Here’s a summary from our CEO, Lucy:
LEaF is a valuable and long-standing partner to many digital marketing agencies and eCommerce businesses. In 2026, we want to offer our expert SEO translation services to more clients – to help take the strain off SEO agencies so they can focus on the strategy, and to allow them to expand their own portfolio of services to include international SEO; and to help fantastic UK businesses export their products to the key European markets and beyond.
